Personal Development
Love, Learn, Live as One
At Bisley Blue Coat C of E Primary School, we believe education is about developing the whole child. Guided by our Christian vision of Love, Learn, Live as One, we are committed to nurturing confident, compassionate and responsible young people who are well prepared for life in modern Britain and beyond.
Personal development is woven through every aspect of school life. We want our children to flourish academically, socially, emotionally, spiritually and physically. Through our curriculum, collective worship, enrichment activities and wider opportunities, we help pupils to develop their character, understand themselves and others, and become active contributors to their communities.
Our approach is underpinned by our Christian values of Community, Love, Respect and Trust. These values help children to build positive relationships, appreciate diversity, make informed choices and develop the resilience and confidence needed to face future challenges.
We are proud of the wide range of opportunities available to our pupils, including leadership roles, educational visits, residential experiences, extra-curricular clubs, charitable initiatives, outdoor learning and community engagement. These experiences broaden horizons, build cultural capital and help children discover their talents, interests and aspirations.
Through our personal development provision, children learn how to:
- Make positive contributions to their school and wider community.
- Respect and value people from different backgrounds, cultures and beliefs.
- Understand and promote fundamental British Values.
- Develop leadership, teamwork and communication skills.
- Take responsibility for their own wellbeing and learning.
- Become environmentally aware and active global citizens.
- Build confidence, independence and resilience.
